Built by Hand, From the Inside Out
Every VärmHüs sauna is assembled at our own shop—not in a dealer’s warehouse—because the craftsmanship is too specialised.
We line our benches and walls with Aspen because it doesn’t splinter, stays cool to the touch and contains no resin. Its knot‑free grain gives the interior a clean look, while Thermory’s chemical‑free thermal modification process reduces moisture absorption and increases stability.
Engineered wood siding treated with the SmartGuard® process stands up to extreme temperatures, humidity and freeze‑thaw cycles. We finish it with Diamond Kote®, which offers a 30‑year no‑fade warranty and virtually eliminates repainting.
The strong structure and exceptional ease of maintenance make Virta heaters excellently suitable for those who use the sauna often and like to enjoy the steam for long periods of time. All connections to the Virta heater are made through the maintenance hatch on the front.
Our wood‑free composite decking stays dry, slip‑resistant and vibrant in any weather. We choose this decking because it stands up to rain, snow and sun while remaining comfortable underfoot.

Common Financing Questions
The typical deposit is roughly US $10 000, which reserves your build slot and allows us to order materials and begin production. This deposit is applied toward the total price of your sauna (about US$49 000 for the Laavu) and is the same whether you order directly or through a dealer. If circumstances change, deposits are refundable within a specified period—just let us know as soon as possible and we’ll work with you. We believe in transparency and want you to feel confident before committing.
Our saunas are built like small houses, not barrels or kits. They feature 360° insulation and ventilated design for even, breathable heat, a commercial‑grade Harvia heater that stores heat in stone, and Thermory Aspen interiors chosen for their feel and performance. We use SmartSide siding with DiamondKote finish and composite decking for long‑term durability. The result is a structure that can handle snow, wind and freeze cycles—a premium experience designed for decades of use, not a short‑term fix.
Not at all. We encourage you to secure your spot early and then take your time finalising the details. With direct orders, the left‑ or right‑porch orientation and colour palette are chosen after you’ve shared site photos and had a consultation. This ensures the sauna fits your landscape and slope perfectly. Dealers choose the orientation at the time of order, but direct clients refine their selections later, knowing that our options are limited to stocked DiamondKote colours to keep lead times reasonable.
From initial inquiry to delivery typically takes a few months. After your consultation, you place a deposit of around $10 k to secure your production slot. Our team then finalises your orientation and colour choices with you. Production and assembly are completed at our facility, and your finished sauna is delivered and installed as a complete structure (approximately 3,500–4,000lbs). Seasonal demand, site preparation and custom options can affect exact timing, but we’ll give you a clear schedule so you know when to expect your first session.
